James Wi-Afedzi

James Wi-Afedzi is a Senior Auditor with Wells Fargo Audit Services headquartered in Charlotte, NC. He graduated from Louisiana State University, with a Bachelors in Accounting and a specification in Internal Audit. He currently works on the Recovery Resolution Audit Team but has experience in auditing bank and financial institutional regulatory reporting, management reporting, Human Resources and financial analysis. He is currently working on earning his Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.

James joined the National Association of Black Accountants as a college freshman in 2013. Throughout his NABA student years, he served as the NABA treasurer responsible for handling all budgets and financial transactions for the student chapter. This opportunity provided him job opportunities and leadership experience which has being essential as a professional. He represented KPMG Baton Rouge at the Washington DC NABA Convention case studies competition which led to his first internship with KPMG in their Corporate Management Internship program. He has also received various internship offers as a student from Deloitte, Boeing and the City of Baton Rouge as an Internal Auditor.

Currently, he serves as the NABA Liaison to Wells Fargo Audit Services and a Committee Member of the Admin and Operations Committee reporting to the Charlotte Chapter Vice President. When he is not working at WFAS and on NABA items, he is volunteering his time and resources to the less fortunate within the Charlotte area. Additionally, he serves as a board member for Hope WorldWide Charlotte Chapter (a nonprofit which provides relief to the less fortunate in the community and provides disaster relief to various disaster stricken countries.)

James likes to travel with his wife (also a NABA member) and mentor other young professionals to maximize their strengths in their professions.
